2011 Update - Professionally Instructing Sailors for 22+
Years Striving to be the Best on the Bay Every Day
Our Captains teach in the 22's and 28's on Galveston Bay

Hello All,
Well we are about to book and finalize the 2012 Trip to the British Virgin Islands for the 101/103/101 Combo.  The school always turns key this, the students get a great opportunity to charter worldwide and the classes are a great opportunity to learn and grow.  We will have a Beneteau 50, what a blast. From Road Town to Virgin Gorda and the Baths to Josh and Foxey's, it will be super. See the Members Page for the latest. The second trip, in the Spring of 2012 will be to Belize and the 114 Leopard Catamaran training.  Island hopping at its best.

Hey, did you know that the ASA Standards for the beginning sailing course is for the students to learn in boats around 20'. Why? Because that way you can hank the jib, attach the tack, rig the main on the boom, slide the foot, work with the slugs, attach the outhaul and many other steps that form the beginning of a firm foundation to sailing. Learning the basics, that is what we believe in.

Our school practices and adheres to this ASA Sailing Standard. After the beginning course we move students onto the 35's and 40's, but starting out we totally agree with and follow the ASA standard:

  • ASA Standards / Curriculum
  • Basic Keelboat (ASA 101)
  • Prerequisites: None

General Description: Able to sail a boat of about 20 feet in length in light to moderate winds and sea conditions in familiar waters without supervision. A preparatory Standard with no auxiliary power or navigation skills required.

We strive to meet this standard and want to stress the importance of following it. WE love to sail and the following courses to the Gulf of Mexico are among the best in the country. Come join us for the firm foundation in the 20's to start the ASA way.

Above we reviewed our Sailing Success Plan, here is more information:
